Lewes District Crime Reduction Partnership (CRP)

Lewes District CRP was formed as a response to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, which recognised that the Police alone cannot be responsible for reducing crime. It is only by a wide range of agencies working together to develop and implement local solutions to local problems that we can bring about lasting reductions in crime. Your local CRP consists of:
Sussex Police
Lewes District Council
East Sussex County Council
Drug & Alcohol Action Team
Sussex Police Authority
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service
East Sussex Fire Authority
Primary Care Trusts

However, the membership of the CRP is far wider than its statutory partners, including many voluntary and community organisations operating in the District. The partnership receives yearly grants from the Home Office which are targeted to reduce crime and improve the safety of our local communities using a partnership approach.

East Sussex Learning Partnership

East Sussex Learning Partnership is a company limited by guarantee. The directors of the Partnership are a group of stakeholders who represent sectors within Sussex Learning and Skills Councils (SLSC) Planning Areas E & F. The concept of Learning Partnerships stems from a joint commitment by central government and the representative bodies of the local government, further education, work-based training, adult and community learning and youth support sectors to the establishment of a single strategic body in each area bringing together all existing local partnership arrangements covering post-16 and lifelong learning.

Health Improvement Partnership

Lewes district health improvement partnership supports the LSP in defining need and providing strategic leadership in the identification of local priorities for health improvement and the reduction of health inequality. It leads on the identification development, implementation and monitoring of health and social care initiatives that contribute to well being throughout the district, with a focus on ill health prevention and the promotion of good health. Its current strategic priorities are: promoting healthy lifestyles, promoting independence, social inclusion, strengthening accountability and carers. Underpinning this are five local priority areas: smoking cessation, accident prevention, food and health, promoting physical activity and access to benefits and financial advice.
